Book mommy read to girls: Magnetism (we looked over a bunch of parts of the book & experiments - not the whole thing.
Big A then proceeded to try a few experiments with magnets of her own - including filling a bowl with water and dropping in metal items and seeing if through the water magnets still worked...they did :)
HOME EC:
Big A has a new favorite show that she loves to watch with me... It is a british cleaning show called How Clean is your House?
If you have never seen it - its about people who have not cleaned their homes in years...soooo gross!! Very educational about how not cleaning your home can be detremental to your health.
It is so great that the weather is getting nicer so that there are more opportunities to do PE outside. Math games are such a great way to reinforce math skills and to encourage automatic recall of basic facts, plush Big A is able to practice other skills like turn-taking and monitoring her emotions at the same time when she wins and doesn't win a game. So exciting about the reading challenge. Incentives definitely are a powerful tool and reading 10 books...wow! Way to go Big A! It is so neat to see her applying what she is learning with the science video and being aware of how she can take care of the environment. Also, very cool to hear how she is doing her own investigating in science with magnets. Way to go, Big A! Hope this week is off to a great start!
